On Being a Staff Member at Sorrento Primary...

During my time as a leader at Sorrento Primary School, there has always been a central focus on student wellbeing.

Casting my mind back to my first year of teaching, I recall a mentor teacher simply stating that; ‘if kids are happy and feel safe; they’re connected to school and are ready to learn.

From this adage I learned the importance of schools promoting a culture and facilitating programs that aim towards students feeling safe, supported and happy.
