Physical Education


Emphasis on participation, enjoyment and skill development.

Students learn fundamental motor skills, athletics, gymnastics and major games.

Foundation – Year 2 have two and a half hours of physical activity each week.

Year 3-6 have three hours of physical activity each week.

Students of all abilities have the opportunity to achieve. There is an abundance of quality equipment for use in classes, a heated pool and well maintained sports ground. The beach is utilised on a needs basis.

 

Beach Program

Year 5 and 6 students develop survival skills in an open water environment, participating in bay swimming, paddling, snorkelling and boating activities.

Ironperson Competition takes place annually.

Community involvement with local sailing and lifesaving clubs.

 

 

Sport

Weekly sport for students in Foundation to Year Six.

Swimming, Athletics and Cross Country for all students in years 3 to 6.

Senior students participate in District Lightning Premiership competitions in a wide range of sports and have the opportunity to represent the school in sport and be eligible for Division, Region and State selection.

 

Swimming

Intensive swimming program for Foundation through to Year 6 in both terms one (F-6) and four (F-4).

Heated pool in school grounds maximises lesson time.

Year 3 to 6 students participate in school swimming sports.
