In Victoria, children starting Foundation (Prep) in 2027 must be 5 years old by 30 April 2027. 

Sorrento Primary School now manages all enrolment applications and supporting documentation through the Department of Education’s online enrolment platform, Student Insights.  Proof of identity documents and immunisation records are required for the process.

Key dates for the Foundation (Prep) enrolment process:

• Monday 20 April 2026 – Applications on Student Insights open.  Refer to the VicStudents Application Reference Guide: Applying for Preparatory (Foundation) Enrolment below
• Friday 31 July 2026 – Applications on Student Insights close
• Between Monday 3 August and Friday 14 August – The school will notify parents/carers of outcome of application on Student Insights.  NB: Enrolment is guaranteed for students living in our designated school zone
• By Friday 28 August – Confirm acceptance of your child’s place by completing the Enrolment Form on Student Insights.

We encourage parents/carers to enrol their children as early as possible allowing them to participate in the Transition Program which runs in Term 4, 2026.
