In grades 3 and 4, students embrace new challenges and develop advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Our curriculum is designed to be challenging yet rewarding, and offers students a broad range of engaging and exciting learning opportunities.
In Years 3 and 4, the Victorian Curriculum focuses on developing critical thinking, communication and collaboration skills. Students build on their foundation knowledge and develop fluency and reasoning skills in Mathematics and explore the natural world around them in Science. The Humanities and Social Sciences curriculum promotes an appreciation of different cultures and communities. Health and Physical Education focuses on developing personal, social, and movement skills.
At Sorrento Primary School, we provide our Level 3 and 4 students with comprehensive and engaging education while creating an inclusive and stimulating environment through our dedicated teachers.
From year 3, students have access to camps and excursions which provide invaluable opportunities for personal growth, teamwork, and hands-on learning.
Our choir and band programs are available from year 3 onwards, enriching the lives of students by fostering a love for the arts, encouraging self-expression, and building confidence through performance.
I love science because it’s interesting and exciting. I like it because it’s powerful and there are lots of options and doing exciting experiments with friends and lots of fun activities! Also fun games, filling out forms and cracking codes, making new friends and erupting experiments.

I love P.E. because I love getting outside and getting fresh air. I loved playing Ultimate Frisbee. I was getting pretty good at it. My favourite sport is football and I’m good at that. I also like playing basketball, I like playing it with friends instead of just playing on my own.
- Ned, Yr4
My teacher is great because she helps me when I need it. Each of my teachers is caring and kind and they are friendly. Sorrento PS is the best and I wouldn’t want to leave ever and never. You can never want to leave because this is the best school you can ever wish for. This school is nothing you have ever dreamed of.
- Asher, Y3
I love all of the music lessons because you get to learn how to play instruments. You can have so much fun. You can make bands if your sibling plays an instrument, or mum or dad. Music is so fun that you get so good at it you can play in the Sorrento Christmas Concert.
- Levi, Yr3
I love Art because I like to do paint pastels and crafts, and I do art at my house.
- Jodie, Yr4
I like the swimming pool and the rocks to do the parkour. The swimming pool is good to learn to swim and get better, so you can go and do races. Doing parkour on the rocks is really fun to do. You can jump from a rock to different rocks. It is good to do.
- Brooklyn, Yr4
I like the playground because you can play with your friends. You can all have fun and enjoy your time in the yard.
